Painting the Roses Red

I went to meet with a florist this weekend in search of wedding flowers so in the spirit of that, I decided to wear this jacket I picked up from H&M. It's from The Garden Collection and was the centerpiece of the collection, as it sold out several times! I was so happy to finally find it in my size. I love the floral detailing throughout, the over-embellished sleeves and the cropped fit. Reminds me a bit of Alice in Wonderland (one of my favorite movies of all time).

The jacket is pretty amazing enough to stand on its own. I initially planned to wear it with a simple white tank but decided to go a little bolder with this 3-dimensional tee from Zara. I thought it looked quite Parisian and I actually was mistaken for a Parisian by a French woman later that day! Comment très doux!

Sunny Days

After the most depressing weather ever, we finally had three sunny days in a row! Early last week it went down to 39 degrees but this past weekend hit 90! Yesterday was a slight bit cooler though so I decided to throw on a light, sunny yellow sweater with a tank dress.

I love the cut of the dress and the blue pinstripes on the white makes it so versatile. I liked it paired with the gold sweater and brown and accessories but in the future I plan on wearing it with a yellow belt and red heels to try something different. What do you think?

Project Runway

When I got an invitation to the Bluefly/Project Runway finale party in my inbox, I couldn't believe my eyes! It was hosted by former contestant, Laura Bennett, at her Manhattan apartment, and this season's contestant Anthony Williams. I was super excited. (Click here to see what unfolded at the party!) But then I thought what the hell am I going to wear? Dressing for a group of fashion designers, PR mavens (Kelly Cutrone was there!) and fashionistas was going to be a challenge. That day I decided to channel my inner Beyonce (you'll notice I 'channel' a lot of celebrities) and pulled out this Catherine Malandrino jeweled dress. I first saw it on Beyonce and when it went on sale at Gilt last year, I had to have it!

I paired it with another Gilt find - a cropped leather bomber (also by Catherine Malandrino). Even though it's not the warmest jacket I own, I love the way it fits.
I'm realizing that almost my entire outfit is from online sales. I picked up the ring from Gilt too.
The necklace is from a local designer I saw while doing a Sex and the City tour. I loved the rich color of the agate stone paired with the brass gold wire wrapping and chain.

Baby I'm a Rockstar

From time to time I love to channel my inner Rihanna. She is my current favorite style icon (I even dressed as her for Halloween) and I love her rockstar vibe. The other day my fiancé and I went out to run errands and I decided on this outfit. I recently got the bag from Gilt and pretty much designed my outfit for the day around it. The dress is from Roni - the boutique I previously mentioned that my sister and I went and spent way too much money one weekend (and haven't gone back since). We bought the same dress too - we loved it so much. I don't get to wear it often, but when I do, I love to pair it with different accessories. Since it's black and white, I can dress it up pretty much any way I want. And I love the neck - it's a large, drawstring cowl that can also be worn as a hood. So versatile.

I think I look a bit demented in this picture but I feel like it works well with the outfit. What do you think?

I wanted this bag for months and finally got it on sale at Gilt! But because of the unique shape, it's pretty difficult to zip shut. But I just love the way it looks!

My fiancé suggested this shot of me leaning on his car. I thought it would look a bit 'men's magazine'-ish but it actually came out looking pretty tasteful!

Here Comes The...

This past weekend I attended my cousin's bridal shower. The dress code was semi-semiformal and I didn't have time to shop for something so I searched my closet for something appropriate. I decided to take out this dress (one of many little black dresses in my closet) for a spin.

I got it from Roni NYC - a great boutique that my sister and I discovered and dropped some serious cash in one weekend. The boutique features a collection of brands, along with the owner's designs, like this Roni dress. I love the scalloped edges, which can be worn conservatively (with a tank underneath) or sexily (no tank).

Since my hair was not cooperating I piled on some funky accessories to draw attention away from that! This chunky necklace is from H&M and was a great find that I love to wear.
